Ive been using iPhone 2g running 1.1.4 unlocked and jailbreaked using Ziphone / iPlus. Buggy firmware 2.0 has been stopping me from upgrading. But finally after firmware 2.1 release, I’m convinced and upgraded. Its very simple process.

This process supports 2.1 firmware with the unlocking and jailbreaking of iPhone 1st generation (2G) device. Supports the jailbreaking of iPod Touch 1st generation device and iPhone 3G.

• - It does NOT support the unlocking of iPhone 3G
• - It does NOT support the jailbreaking of second generation iPod Touch introduced last week

• iTunes 8.0 ( Direct Apple Link )
• Windows QuickPwn 2.1 ( Download technoh.net, fidunderground.com, torrent )
• Boot Loaders 3.9 and 4.6 ( Download )

The Simple Guide to Unlock, Jailbreak

> Connect the iPhone to iTunes and update. Upgrade to iTunes 8.0 and Firmware 2.1 for iPhone.

 

> While upgrading to iPhone firmware 2.1, itll backup the iPhone completey and updates the firmware and restores the backup.

> Close iTunes and Start QuickPwn 2.1 for Windows. Click the Next and itll detect your iPhone version.

> Choose the options, Jailbreak, Add Installer, Cydia. I don’t think Replacing Logos is useful, you want to replace Apple logos with QuickPwn.

> If you have chosen to unlock, then you need to locate the Bootloads 3.9 and 4.6 and hit Next.

> Youll need to be in DFU ( Recovery ) mode to start process, the on-screen instructions guide you through the steps.

> iPhone will restart and voila, you have it all App Store, Cydia, Installer.
