Betting pool crosses Rs 6,000 cr

As the matches in IPL go to the wire, bookmakers are ratcheting up the betting stakes. And from the big players to homemakers, everyone’s jumping in for a juicy slice of the pie. The betting ring, which saw bets of around Rs 150 crore per match when the season began, is now witnessing bets of over Rs 300 crore per match, taking the total IPL betting pool to over Rs 6,000 crore. Punters say housewives, grocery shopowners and stockbrokers have been placing their own bets on IPL matches.
