Proteas batsman Herschelle Gibbs was the hero as Western Cape Cobras defeated Central Eagles by 22 runs Saturday and lifted the South African Twenty20 championship trophy. Gibbs finished unbeaten on 87 as the Cobras batted first at Newlands and scored 147-5 with Justin Ontong (21 runs) offering most support after Proteas skipper Graeme Smith was out for two in the fifth ball of the first over.   read more »
