SOURCES IN TAIWAN say the shortage of hard disc drives (HDDs) for notebooks will likely continue well into the third quarter, something which might seriously affect notebook OEMs.DodgyTimes cites IC distributor GMI Technology and Weikeng Industrial, who work on behalf of Toshiba, Hitachi and Western Digital, saying that demand for Tosh's 250GB single-platter HDDs had shot up over the last couple of months.   read more »
