The Concept Movie was set to release in October but got postponed to January 2008 but finally released on 15 February 2008. Before release, Jodha Akbar already got several media attention right from kissing scene between Hrithik & Aishwariya to Objection by Rajputs on picturization of their history in the movie. Moreover, people doubt upon Ashutosh Gowarikar for altering the History to suits the movie.
