Rama, the hero of Ramayana, is a popular deity worshiped in the Hindu religion. According to Hindu tradition, Rama is an incarnation (Avatar), of the God Vishnu, who is part of the Hindu Trimurti. The main purpose of this incarnation is to demonstrate the righteous path (dharma) for all living creatures on Earth. Dasharatha the king of Ayodhya, who had ruled over his kingdom of Kosala for a long time, was beginning to become anxious about his successor, for he had no sons to take over the kingdom after him. After organizing a Putrakameshti Yagna, Dasaradha’s three queens, Kausalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi became pregnant and gave birth to four sons. Queen Kausalya gives birth to the eldest son, Rama. Bharata is born to Queen Kaikeyi, and twins, Lakshmana and Shatrughna, are born to Queen Sumitra.Rama got married to Sita after breaking the bow of Shiva at Sita’s Swayamvaram.
