Dear Maureen, Luke and "Big Russ", It's been a week and two days. The loss of Tim is still fresh and heart-breaking. Watching "Meet the Press" this morning and the short piece on the Memorial Service again brought tears. Tim was one of a kind and will be missed by all of us. May the shamrocks fall softly. Ann DeVergilio, Elk Rapids, Michigan
To Maureen and Luke, I am so, so sorry for your loss. My husband and I watched Meet The Press every Sunday. We live right outside Buffalo, so we LOVED to hear his "Go Bills" at the end of his show during football season, and delighted in his truly unstoppable optimism and loyalty. We appreciated his fairness and his strong ability as an interviewer. He was truly extraordinary and although our loss is nothing compared to yours, we will miss him every Sunday at 9am. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that he was loved and respected by so many. To the NBC and MSNBC family, thank you for spending so much time and emotion remembering this wonderful man. It was comforting to see how one man made such a difference to so many people. I extend my heartfelt condolences to all of you. I hope you will honor his memory by striving to continue to make him proud.
How much will he be missed? Let the world count the ways. It's an unbelievable & tragic passing that the entire world will long remember. He made history with his knowledge, personality, love, friedship to all, kindness, compassion, etc. etc. My daughter-in-law had her picture taken with Tim at the 2000 Republican National Convention, at which my son spoke. It is a picture our family will never forget. No one can ever fill his shoes. God made him one-of-a-kind. After watching Luke on the Today Show, he's surely a close 2nd. My sincere sympathy to Big Russ, Moureen & Luke. May their faith & the love of others help sustain them at this very difficult time. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
We are all diminished by the loss of this fair-minded, honorable man. Sunday morning will never be the same without Tim in our lives. His passion for the truth in politics was so inspiring. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Maureen and his son, Luke. Our sympthy also for his professional family at NBC and MSNBC.
Mr. Russert "got it done" because he felt that we, the American public, deserved the truth. He did it while remaining almost totally transparent. He did that because it was what responsible journalists do. How will NBC ever fill those shoes?
What a guy.
I, for one, appreciate very much the efforts of these executives to provide such extended and fitting coverage of the life and death of this great man. I doubt if I'm speaking only for myself when I say his passing felt like the passing of a beloved Head-of-State. Thank you for giving us so many heart-felt remembrances and tributes and for understanding just how much those extra hours with "our Tim" have meant.
I would like to offer my condolences to Tim Russert's family and associates. When I heard of his death I felt liked I'd been kicked in the stomach...and I'd never even met him. He stood alone on the journalism pedastal in my eyes, and I trusted his insights and opinions more than anyone else. It won't be possible to enjoy these coming political months, as I had anticipated, because the absense of his presence will felt too keenly.
Rest in peace, Tim Russert.
My husband and I looked forward to seeing Tim Russet every Sunday. If we missed him during the morning, we always caught him in the evening. We knew that we could trust the information he gave because his honest and integrity showed. It was also clear to us that he liked simlilar traits in others and disfavored those whom he felt were being dishonest. We loved him and somehow knew that he loved us and we will remember him with sadness at our loss. His love for us as countrymen reminds me of a story of when my grandmother died.... I said to my cousins, "I hate to break this to you now, but I know that I was my grandmother's favorite and she loved me best." I was amazed to learn that we each felt that she loved us best. Tim reminds me of someone like grandma; he cared from the heart and made everyone he met feel special.
I have never met Tim Russert, but I honestly feel as if I knew him. I particularly liked the fact that he wasn't afraid to let his Catholic faith show. I felt as if his work here was inspired by God. He presented complex issues fairly so that ordinary people like me could understand how our votes might affect our neighbors, especially those in need. For sure he is at the royal banquet now. My eternal hope is to join him there one day. Linda from Massachusetts
No matter how late I stayed up on Saturdays, I would set my alarm and spend Sunday morning with Tim. He was everyone's "touchstone" for politics and our advocate as he asked the right and important questions with utmost civility. As so many have already stated, it is hard to imagine this campaign without his insight and input. He would want all of us to stay engaged and involved in the process as advocates on our own behalf. Sincere condolences to his family, including Maureen, Luke and Big Russ. Condolences to his NBC family who so obviously loved and admired him. What a legacy he has left!...I saw the interview with Luke on Today and how proud he must be of his fine son! We all grieve with you and hold you dearly in our prayers - may God bless Tim - the tributes from his friends have shed light on his greatness and the profound impact he made on everyone who was privileged to work with him and to know him. He was the "every man" who was the people's advocate and his love of life has taught all of us some very valuable lessons about living. Christina M., Tucson, Arizona
I am from Uganda...I have been watching "Meet the Press" since 1991. Tim is a "LEGEND", exceptional and unique. He is like my family member. Tim practiced a unique style and etiquette of Journalism demonstrating dynamism and extensive knowledge about issues that matter to HUMANITY! Oh my God! I just heard TIM'S son speak...BRILLIANT SON/CHILD...I know Tim must be looking down and very proud of him. TIM SO LONG I WILL MISS YOU FOREVER AND MAY YOU REST IN ETERNAL PEACE FOR YOU HAVE DONE YOUR DUES TO MASSES AND HUMANITY! I have been crying throughout this write up...I am struck by my emotional reaction like Joani mentioned...BUT of course why not for TIM RUSSERT!!! TIM...GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL, FAMILY AND COLLEAGUES (MSNBC)!
Like Tim Russert, I am a born-and-raised Roman Catholic who values and is proud of my faith. But Tim might have been a bit suspicious of my piety, because when I moved to a new place four years ago, part of the reason I chose my new parish church was the fact that they have a 12:30 PM Mass on Sundays. Attending that Mass enabled me to watch Meet the Press, which comes on at 10:30 AM in my area. The last Mass at every other church in my area starts at 11:00. Sundays are extremely important to me for spiritual reasons, but honesty requires my confession that Sunday mornings also require Meet the Press to both end the week past and jump start the one ahead. I can't imagine who NBC will select to fill that chair--or who will be willing to accept that daunting task. My heart goes out to those making both decisions. Boy-oh-boy, will Tim Russert ever be missed!
Cheri Hackensack, New Jersey

My husband and I have watched Meet the Press ever since it started. Tim was bigger than life. He had such a sense of fairness and even though we tried, we could never tell where he himself stood on a candidate or an issue. He always showed great respect for whom ever he was interviewing. He was that good that he never gave you the sense of his personal opinion. We appreciated his attitude, his love for God, his family, and America and of course the Buffalo Bills. He will be sorely missed. We can't imagine who could possibly take his place. Our heart and our prayers go out to his family for the great loss of their Husband,Father, son and brother and to MSNBC for the great loss of a loved and reveared friend and comrade. We will miss him.
I have respected Tim Russert and listened to him for many years. I did not like or understand politics as a younger person, but came to listen and learn from him over these past few years. Hw will be sorely missed by me as a teacher and favorite person to listen too. God Bless his wife and Luke-these must have millions of great memories to hold on to.
How will we ever know the truth about the candidates, the war, the legislation, etc. now that Tim is gone? what a positive person, what an intellect, what a laugh, and what a love of life and family! You will be so very missed Tim. We thought we had years ahead to listen to you put it all in terms we all could understand and relate to.
Words escape me. Tim embodied what I feel every person should live for: Family, Faith, Friends, and Country. His death hit me, and continues to hit me, extremely hard. His caring and selflessness were unparalleled. God Bless you Tim, and your family, collegues and friends. They were very blessed indeed to have you, however briefly, in their lives. GO BILLS! (Wherever you are I know that you'll be enjoying the rest of this election year...!)
As a tribute to that glorious man I hope that NBC/MSNBC will re-air Meet The Press
My thoughts and prayers have been with you from the beginning of this unbeleivable loss.I am a widow also Maureen,6 years this week, and I truly know what you and your family are going through, stay close to your faith and friends and your wonderful son Luke. I have been educated and raised in the Catholic Church the same as Tim was, and I know that with this strong foundation of faith and my parents teaching and expectations of me----that I am here today.Do not be afraid to ask for help, I spent many an hour with my parish priest and also had one on one professional counseling for 2 1/2 years and can go back any time I need to, I knew that this was BIGGER than me, and I needed help and not ashamed to say so, we were in a wonderful, loving marriage for 36 years and 2 months, and it is still like yesterday I lost him.I beleive I will never be the same or "get over it" we all grieve in our own way and time, it just keeps going on for me.I will be thinking of you always Maureen and what a wonderful man, husband and father you had and always will have.Take care and God Bless you and Luke and Big Russ too. Kathy Prins---Madera,Ca
None can replace a man like Tim. Why do so many people feel so emotionally upset about his passing when we never even met the man? Simply because he was not only a great newscaster and journalist, he was smart, talented and his sweetness came through the t.v. waves into our homes. No one can replace a man like Tim. Others may try but they don't know where to begin. We will keep him in our hearts.
OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY,HIS DEVOTION TO HIS SON LUKE SHOULD HAVE INSPIRED MANY MORE SONS TO REMEMBER THEIR DADS THIS PAST FATHERS DAY. I WILL MISS HIS SUNDAY "MEET THE PRESS" AND ALL HIS POLITICAL COVERAGES. A PATRIOT, SPORT FAN, FAMILY MAN, GENUINE "BLUE COLLAR". GOD BLESS!
My deepest sympathy to the entire Russert family and the NBC/MSNBC families. What a moving tribute yesterday on MSNBC to a wonderful, gifted and gentle man. He will be greatly missed. God Bless you and our continued prayers for all of you.
Thanks to Tim Russert, I now know, this upcoming Presidential Race is super exciting not only because of Barrack Obama being African-American, but because "For the first time since 1952, there is no incumbent president or vice-president" on the ticket. That's the year my oldest brother was born, oh my! When others are giving their biased commentary, Tim gave us amazing facts like that! I'm going to miss Tim for just that kind of informative reporting! Tim Russert's passing is the first time my whole world stopped for a public figure since John, Martin, and Bobby. Tim, rest in peace. Maureen & Luke my family's thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire Russert family. God bless.
Karen Dalton, GA
Thank You for loaning us Tim on Sunday Mornings. He spoke for many of us, and, he did it well. Thanks to him, I am more passionate about politics and what's really going on in the world. He was a Beacon for us all. Just keep looking to the sky, and you will always see him. Thanks, Tim. May God Bless You All, and, Keep You Close.
My sincerest sympathy to you Maureen, Luke, Big Russ, Tim's sisters and the entire MSNBC News Staff on your great loss of the greatest human being I have ever seen on a News Program. This past Sunday I got up at 8:30 a.m., made my oatmeal and one pancake and got on the treadmill exactly at 9:00 a.m. to watch my favorite news person, Tim, on to Meet the Press only to truly feel the impact of his death Friday, by seeing an empty chair and table where my favorite newsman, Tim, sat and made my Sunday mornings so special to hear a news show that I really respected and looked forward to hearing him question his guests about the headlines of the week. I thought about it being Father's Day and how Tim was probably saying to the Angels around him, "here is a kid from Buffalo standing here and spending Father's Day with the Father of all Father's----God our Father!! Unfortunately, I never met Tim Russert, however, it truly was like a family member had died. Like so many others he was like family sharing so much of his life and family with us. With so much going on in our lives, it was great whenever he was on the air to hear his excitement over the news story of the day. He was never partial or mean spirited---just direct and honest in his opinions, which I respected emensely. Even FOX television, which I had stopped watching for their biased hurtful views, I was amazed at all the really great and wonderful remarks made about Tim Russert--I thought, how amazing is this, that Tim Russert even brings out the good in FOX news----now that is a great accomplishment, but no surprise because I feel that Tim brought about a good feeling at the end of his show that we learned something and were not turned off by just the negativity in the World. I also want to sincerely THANK YOU Maureen, Luke and the rest of the Family for allowing us fans of Tim Russert to join you in your final farewell which was telecast to the public. I will keep Tim and you in my prayers as I say my Rosary every night that God will always watch over you and Tim. God Bless You Always. Love a fan, Cecilia Tafoya, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
I want Tim's wife, father, and son to know they are in my thoughts and prayers. Tim was one special man. I feel like I knew him. Thank you Russert family for sharing your dad with us, letting us mourn with you because we are mourning. The eulogy allowed me to know Tim Russert, the friend, the father, the co-worker. I was able to laugh and shed many a tear during the two hour tribute. I know one thing... after this week I know now why Tim was so proud of his son. . God bless.
Tim Russert such a 'Beautiful Faithful Presence to this upside down world we live in now. Tim Russert brought LOVE & SINSIBILITY.
With Love & Respect I write this to Tim's precious Family, Bethanne & Family
My Sunday mornings started with Meet The Press and ended with Meet the Press.
If its Sunday... Its Tim Russert.
You are already sorely missed.
What a sad time for all of America. Tim was our anchor- not just on the air, but with all things. Whenever a news item came on the air and the boring tedious bantering started, we would look at each other and say, "Let's wait to hear what Tim says." Where will our sense of stability come from now? We don't know. Our deep regards to Maureen, Luke and the NBC family. Sharon & Jim Peterson Walnut Creek, Ca.
I can't imagine how you, his friends and family are coping. I can't understand why I can't get out of bed. I'll take courage from all of you and in some kind of tribute to him-- start to ask every once and a while; What would Tim do?
Even though i did'nt know Tim Russert personally on friday when i heard of his passing it took something out of me.Tim was a great american as well as an, awesome and fair journalist he will be missed greatly. My Prayers goes out to the Russert Family and The Entire NBC Family. Heather Bagby Tulsa, OK
The world was a better place because Tim was in it. He will be missed greatly. I always so looked forward to watching Tim Russert on Saturday and Meet the Press on Sunday. Also, the elections won't be same without him. His family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

How will I make it thru this election year without Tim to guide me? I will truly miss him. What a good man, you can tell allot about a person by their children and if Luke is any example what a great parent. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with his family.
My deepest sympathy to Tim's family at this time of sorrow. He will always be remembered as a good man and trusted political analyst. He will definitely be missed!
Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Russert family. You could tell by his smile what a genuine caring person he was
Please accept our deepest sympathy. He truly touched a lot of lives and loved his family and his country. What a wonderful person. We will miss seeing those sparkling eyes and that wonderful smile. God Bless

To Tim's family and friends, you have our deepest sympathy. We never knew him personally, but we really felt we did. He was someone you could trust to tell the truth and give you the facts, so you could make up your own mind. He tried to get his questions answered without being rude or brash and in our society today that is remarkable. When he was on talking about his book, you couldn't help but love him more, for a man to honor and love his father so much, his son, wife and God is impressive. May God Bless and keep you today and always.
Jerry & Lynn in North Carolina
HE HELPED ALL OF US TO BE BETTER AMERICAMS.HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL.

To the Russert Family: We will miss Tim as people who didn't know him personally, but felt as if we did because of how he made us feel while watching him do what he did so well. Meet The Press will never be the same because there was only one Tim Russert. I was so proud of Luke's visit to the Today Show. Your Dad is very proud of you as you know. Maureen, Big Russ and the rest of the Russert family, please know the world grieves with you and that God will make eveything beautiful in time. Love never dies!

I was a-political until 1991 when Tim Russert took over Meet the Press. He has inspired me to get involved in our political process. The news of his passing has created an incredible void to our nation. Tim was our great questioner and he represented us all so well. My deep heartfelt sympathies to his wife Maureen and his son Luke, and of course Big Russ and Tim's sister's. You have a nation mourning with you. Maybe one day Luke Russert will become the moderator of Meet the Press, how awesome that would be! God Bless the Russert and NBC Family.
To Maureen and Luke Russert, I feel as if I know you, as if you are part of my own family. Please know that my family's thoughts are with you. Having grown up in a New England Catholic family, I found it easy to relate to Tim's background, sense of humor and love of family. I trusted him to keep me informed on all the political information that I would need to do my part in this democracy that I love. I am a veteran, a mother, a grandmother, a gay American with a partner of 25 years. Obviously the political future of our country is important to me. I thank you now for what Tim gave to all of us. Be well and take care of yourselves as he would have taken care of you Tim Russert was a great man and will be greatly missed.
It's been said thousands of times at this point, that Mr. Russert was a wonderful man. It's evident from the outpouring, he was admired by even those who never had the honor to meet him. My condolences to his family, friends and co-workers. May God bless you all and comfort you. He will be missed by so many.
To Tims wife and son,you are in our thougths and prayers during this time. Tim was truly a symbol of a true American and he will be so sadly missed. He represented honesty, integrity, intelligence, the ability to touch and reach us all in some way. May God bless you with those special memories and may he hold you strong during those tough times to come. And may God watch over Tims dad as well as you and his frinds. This has been a true loss to the whole nation. May Tim rest in peace. Love The Smith Family
As a foreigner in America I looked to Tim Russert to explain the complexities of American politics. For over 10 years now I have watched Meet the Press on Sunday mornings and have learned so much just by watching how Tim conducted his interviews. He was never mean spirited but always seemed to ask the tough questions to get the answers that he wanted(and us as well). My condolences to his family,he would have been so proud to see how Luke has conducted himself over these last difficult days
My heart is still heavy after hearing about the passing of Tim Russert. I am a fifty year old African American woman who never missed an airing of "Meet the Press". Tim was a TRUE journalist and patriot who loved what he did and in informing the America public about politics. He was honest and fair and sought nothing but facts from our politicans.
Never had a chance to say thank you Tim, and may God bless you.
I am so surprised at how emotional I am over the passing of Tim Russert. I counted on him being there for all the important things I needed to understand and be aware of. Simply...I really trusted him. I took it for granted that he would always be a part of my life even though I have never met him. May he forever rest in peace.
Maureen, Luke, Big Russ, Colleages: Dear Maureen, Luke, Big Russ, Friends-- I am grieved beyond words of Tim's passing. My husband and I could not believe, Tim was gone, Friday evening. We send our most profound condolences to you all. We have shed many tears and know in our hearts Tim is with our Father in Heaven. I know the loss of a father and it all came back to me on Saturday, after viewing the coverage on MSNBC. Luke, it was great to see your father, publically say he loved you and was proud of you. Be thankful for the emotion and acknowledgement of that public display of affection. Some of us never really received this type of acknowledgement from our parents. I guess that's just the way it was in those days. We knew our parents loved us but we were not told they loved us. Your dad made it a point that you knew this and was not ashamed to show it. Maureen-- we will keep you all in our prayers. Sunday will never be the same for any of us. Although you do not know us, WE are Tim's family, We are your family and we will pray for the strength that you all will need in the days, months and years to come. God called a good man home, Friday, ironically enough, on the same day he died, and even in the 3:00 hour, if I am not mistaken. He died on the feast day of San Antonio de Padua. God sends us these messages, if we are aware of these little things. I trust that he is dancing with Our Father , Our Blessed Mother, Jesus, himself and he is smiling that smile which we will never forget. Do not feel alone, we all grieve... a nation grieves with you. May God's peace surround you, may Our Lord Jesus, strengthen you and May our Lady wrap her mantle around you always. Your sister in Christ, Angela Sandoval, Antonito, CO. ( + J.M.J.) Totus Tuus!
Tim Russert's untimely death is beyond comprehension. Our most heartfelt condolences and prayers are with his amazing family and his extended family at MSNBC. It is an enormous loss for the entire nation!
The political arena will "never" be the same again!
We are so filled with emotion and loss at the news of Tim Russert's untimely death and will truly miss him, his smile, his sparkling eyes, and his approach to connecting with us. Sunday mornings will never be the same. It's still hard to believe Tim is no longer living amongst us. The program on Father's Day at Tim's usual time with Tom Brokaw and the group was wonderful. However, the shot of Tim's empty chair and studio was heart-wrenching. At that moment, we realized Tim is truly gone; what a great loss to all of us. His voice fell silent much too soon.
Good-bye, Tim, our good friend, and may God bless you and all those whose lives you touched.
John & Angie, Montgomery, Illinois
Dear Family & Friends of Tim Russert,
In the book of Isaiah, it is written, "And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land." Tim Russert was such a man. Honest and decent. Kind-hearted and generous. So genuine. I admired so many things about him, especially his commitment to God and family, his eagerness to help others, and his humility. I loved Tim Russert. Though I never had the privilege to meet him, I felt he was a friend, and I am absolutely certain that had I met him, he would have given me his time and treated me as if I was special and important. His book "Wisdom of Our Fathers" inspired my sister and me to communicate in written form our love and appreciation to our own father. My dad pronounced this gift "the best present" he ever received in his life of 80 years. I will always be grateful that God gave our country such a man as Tim Russert to epitomize what it means to be a son, a husband, and a father, and most especially, a gentleman. Maureen, Luke, Big Russ and Tim's sisters, loved ones and friends are in my prayers. May God's love and grace be a blanket of comfort and strength to you in the days ahead.
With kindest regards,
Barbara
Dear Luke, I will never know why God calls home good men like your Dad and mine at too early an age. However, I do know three things: it was obvious he loved you dearly, he loved the Lord, and he made a difference in the world. What a legacy. Forty-four years ago next month I lost my father; he's still with me. He lived long enough to teach me some very important life lessons. It will be the very same for you. Tim Russert was a first rate human being and he raised a first rate son. God Bless You Always, Valleri
Tim Russert made a difference in our lives by teaching us to be interested in the lives of others . In this way , Tim taught us servant leadership and encouraged us to enthusiastically look for ways to raise our hands in salute as he saluted us all in this parade of life ! God bless you all !
It is such a sad time for me. I will miss the friend in Tim that I knew in my mind so well, but who never knew me. I am like so many others, who felt that what you watched on TV was the genuine article. You just knew he was real.
While Tim will be missed, the sadness should be for those of us who are left behind. His obviously loving family, close friends, and those distant friends like myself are the ones who are a bit empty for his absence.
I hope those reading this will not find it strange when I say that I am happy for Tim. God's promise is that you are not stuck here! You have the get out of jail card. Gods promise that you can "Get Out of Dodge". Tim learned and taught all he could on this level of life. It appears that the "Inner" Tim knew it was time to go.
My Best to his loving family.
Keith

Although I never met Mr. Russert, I truly felt like I knew him. After watching him on Meet the Press and MSNBC over the course of these past campaigns and elections I trusted him and believed him to be a person of great character. I was SO very sad to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to the family he obviously loved so dearly.
I feel like I have lost a big brother. Tim's loving smile and twinkling Irish eyes were a part of all of my Sunday's and it was a special treat to see him pop up on my screen at other times. The tears keep breaking through at unexpected times. I miss him. I never met him, but I felt that I DID know him.
I will truly miss Tim's knowledge of the political process. I always enjoyed his Meet the Press interviews. I always wished he had run for political office, since it is obvious, he is the smartest man in the capital beltway. He was always the man to be trusted. The election this fall will not be the same without him. Carrie, Ohio
I was shaken upon hearing Tom Brokaw announce his pasing and tears well-up Sunday on watching Meet the Press. I marvel at his son being able to be interviewed Monday morning on the Today show. What a beautiful Catholic family. The best commercial the church could ever produce. Love to Big Russ, his wife and son. Ihave listened to the C D 3 times over the past 2 years and intend to listen to it once again soon. I had not read a book in years, but upon receiving the Tom Broka book I could not put it dowm. Both are so much what we 20's folks have lived. Thank you for this opportuniy to express my views.
Tim Russert gave me "the" reason to turn on the TV every Sunday morning---or whenever he was covering the political scene. What an overwhelming loss this is for his family, friends at NBC and around the world. The greatest gift we all could give Tim is to embrace his extraordinary approach to life and remember how he valued and cherished his love of family. After listening to Luke speak yesterday you immediatelly saw Tim's impact on this young man's being. We need more Russert families in this world! Again, my heartfelt sympathy to his family and everyone at MSNBC. Karen in Maine
I first saw Tim on Meet The Press interviewing some politician. He asked the politician a question and then politely waited about a minute while the politician spoke in vague terms. When the politician was finished Tim said "you haven't answered my question". I loved him from then on. Brian in NY
I was shocked to hear that the world of journalism has lost one of its greatest at such an early age. As a wife, Mrs. Russert I pray the Lord will grant you strength to carry on, knowing that Christ died for Tim to grant him eternal life, that he has defeated death so that Tim did not have to face it alone. As a daughter who nearly lost her mother to a stroke, Luke I pray for strenght also for you to move forward, knowing that your father is with you through Christ each day, and through all he has taught you. Big Russ, all I know to say is, be strong, I cannot even imagine seeing any of my children going on the journey Tim went on this past week unless I had went before them. With much love and heartfelt prayers. Sandra
I have been so saddened by the loss of of our dear friend Tim Russert. He has been in our lives for many years and I will miss him terribly. My heart goes out to his family, loved ones and his colleagues. Tim has left a legacy of love and one day we will all be together again-Roana
I am but one of thousands of unknown face on the other side of the t.v. "tube" who looked forward to Sunday morning as it our time to be educated by the best. Sure, Tim wanted to educate all in the arena of his beloved politics and there is no one that could do it better. Even though he had no idea that "I" was waiting on him every Sunday to reassure me that the Washington folks were just as they said they were and exactally where they stood on issues that made America, "what a country" and Tim was trying to see that it remained just that.
My first thought when I heard the news was "that just can't be - - the election is not over" . . he was so excited about this election.
Tim could reach right through the "tube" and I felt he was authentic, warm, real and cared about his family, his friends and his country.
Thanks, Tim for everything and a special thanks to his family who was willing to share this wonderful creation of God. Our prayers are with you all.
Dear Maureen and Luke: My heartfelt condolences to both of you and the rest of the NBC family. I bought both of Tim's books Friday night after hearing the shocking news and watched a lot of the coverage over the weekend. Tim was such an inspiration---especially in election years----he was always so enthusiastic and full of life. I lost my dad (a WWII vet) 3 weeks ago to a fatal heart attack. In some strange way, your loss has helped me deal with my dad's passing, so I am grateful for that. You have all conducted yourselves with such grace. What we have to do going forward is honor those we've lost every day by living the values of which they were such shining examples: love of family, integrity, kindness and selflessness. This is the best tribute we can give them.
I have been crying off and on all weekend. As a devout Catholic myself, I will except Tim's passing as Gods will, but oh what a loss! I don't know how I will get through this election year without him. I don't know how many times I started a conversation with "Well, Tim Russert said...". After every Tuesday primary I couldn't wait to hear what Tim had to say on the "Today" show. I would devour every word he said and I would quote him all the time. I have always enjoyed politics but I grew to love politics after Tim. How sad for him that he won't be with us for the rest of this election year, how sad for all of us. God Bless Tim, and peace to his family and friends. Raynette Hurley, Las Vegas, Nevada
We have enjoyed watching Tim throughout all these years. He was the only person we trusted with all of his thoughts and ideals of life and politics and family. This world has lost an icon that will truly be missed. Our condolences go to the entire Russert family and also to his extended family at NBC and MSNBC.
My husband and I wish to express our deep sympathy and feeling of loss, after having lost Tim Russert. Three years ago, we lost my own brother, born in 1950. It must have been a good year for good boys. I always loved Tim's passion for politics, life, and family. I could relate to the academic discipline from Catholic school. It may have been tough, but it paid off. What memories, and as Tim would say, What a country. Vicki from Minnesota
I sure miss Tim Russert, the best of the best! My prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones. He is by now an angel up in heaven taking care of his Big Rus, Maureen, Luke, his sisters, relatives, friends, and so on. Sundays will never be the same without Tim Russert moderating Meet the Press. I will pray for him and his family till time eternal.
A giant of a man is now gone...Tim, you are and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to your family: Maureen, Luke, Big Russ, and your sisters and all of your NBC and MSNBC family. A fellow Irishman
I,like everyone else, I was so saddend and found myself crying over Tim Russert's sudden passing. I always enjoyed his commentary and after watching the coverag I now know what a wonderful man he was. We should all be so blessed to have such a zest and love for life, family, faith and one another.
Sundays were about a great cup of coffee, The New York Times, and Meet The Press. It was when questions asked, were questions answered, and it all made sense. My class on Politics 101 has suddenly been cancelled.
He was not afraid to tell us all about his love for his family. Somehow, if I ran into Big Russ or Luke, I'd tell them how his display of affection was heartwarming and so unique, coming from a guy.
'SUNDAY'S WILL NEVER BE THE SAME'
May our Almighty God be near to the Russert family during this time of grief and loss. I have always looked forward to Tim Russert's interviews and comments on the Today Show and other news programs. We have lost a great man, but now he is experiencing another avenue of his life in heaven.
It feels like there has been another world tragedy since hearing of Tim Russert's death. There should be more honorable and upstanding citizens, Christians, fathers, brothers, husbands, sons and friends like Tim Russert. My prayers and thoughts are with all who knew and loved him>
My sympathy & prayers go out to Tim's family - his wife, Maureen; son, Luke; and father, Big Russ; and also to his NBC family...I am not very political-minded; nor did I grow up with an Irish Catholic background...however, I have been completely devastated by Tim's death and savoring every moment of coverage on TV of "Tim" memories from those who knew him best. I gave Tim's book, Wisdom of our Fathers, to my son for his birthday/Father's Day a couple of years ago, as it had touched me so deeply. Whether we knew Tim personally or not, each of us has lost a friend it would seem. What an impact he has made in his too-short 58 years on this earth. After seeing Luke on the Today Show this morning, it is apparent that he already has some pretty broad shoulders of his own and that his father's love and legacy will live on. Healing blessings to all grieving hearts...
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Philippians 1:3
The world seems much less without you in it...less intelligent, less informed, less compassionate, less civil and less joyful. Your class and grace will be sorely missed for quite some time. All of your faithful students of Life & politics realize that no-one can take your place at the table, and what an unenviable chore for the next moderator to face..LIVING UP TO THE FINE EXAMPLE SET BY TIM RUSSERT.. WE SHOULD EACH AND EVERY ONE TRY IT. WATCH HOW THE WORLD IMPROVES. Blessings on this country for we must endure without Tim, but trust in his guiding presence in our lives. Easier probably for those privileged enough to know him personally(I wasn't that lucky). My prayers are with the entire Russert family whether by blood or by heartstrings. I got the feeling somebody(bodies) at GE/NBC/msnbc will keep an eye on Tim's survivors and be there for them throughout.
The company showed a lot of class in honoring Tim over the weekend and it made me proud to be a shareholder even though its stock price is down. If any of them @ nbc read these notes: CAN WE KEEP RECENT RELEVANT MTP ON THE AIR? MAYBE FLOAT THE IDEA OF A VINTAGE MEET THE PRESS SHOW? THERE ARE SIXTY PLUS YEARS OF HISTORY TO BE SHARED. Maybe lose some(most)of those "lock-up"...would anyone really MISS that??? Lastly, thank you, Tim, for sharing so much, so very much of your inquisitive mind, keen intellect, compassion, good humor, enthusiasm for Life and love of God. You will be fondly remembered for many years...until we meet on High...
He asked the questions to help us understand better, he sought the truth to help us vote, informed. We have to find the courage to continue to to this quest without him. His passing is an American Tragedy. You are in our hearts and prayers Maureen, Luke and the rest of the NBC family.
It says so much about a man to have a national TV station run 2 days of remembering a man we all thought would be here every week to help us get to the real truth in politics. Thank you NBC.
Tim..You inspired everyone you touched. I sobbed when I heard of your way too early death. There are truly to few men left in this world of your caliber. I have no doubt that God is happier now, just to talk to you. Can you please ask him one question for me? Why did you take such a great man just in his prime of life? We needed you here so badly. Say hello to my many souls waiting there for me Tim and tell them you want to intervue them until I get there. See you soon Tim, life is soooo short....Your Anonymous admirer and one who thought you were the greatest on TV... GOD SPEED TIMOTHY JOHN RUSSERT!!!
Tim and his son Luke are America's children similar to the JFK children. I feel like I know them both and am so proud of them both. I feel like Tim was my brother, my father, and best friend. He was my personal representative to all that was good. Good bless Maureen and Luke. You had the best husband and father--none better. You are blessed. Waukesha, WI
I have so enjoyed Tim Russert over the years. He has become my favorite politico. I remember the glee on his face when the last Democratic primary ended a few weeks back. He said something like "boy, would I love to be a teacher tomorrow morning, explaining this incredible night to students!" -- It was such an insight into him and how much he loved his work. Blessings to you, Tim and your famliy.
My condolences to Tim's entire family, immediate and extended. What a great man, what a great loss for use all. My heart aches for his family and friends, and my heart aches for myself and the rest of the world for Tim Russet was truly one of a kind.
I spent very little time watching regular television, just was not interested in useless information. But my Sunday morning was always open for Meet The Press with Tim. (My evenings with Kieth) I loved that, what was like a whole-body, experience watching and learning from Tim. Though I could not bring myself to watch MTP this Sunday morning (I did watch and record it later Sunday evening)I will continue to watch Meet The Press in his honor, and because NBC and MSNBC rocks. I only wish I could have met Tim in person. Thank you Tom, Mike, Andrea, and Co. for the wonderful tribute to Tim last night.
Michael Fletcher, CA
I broke down and cried when I learned of the untimely death of Tim Russert. I feel as if I lost a member of my own family. I looked forward to watching "Meet the Press" every Sunday, and I looked forward to his political commentary. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Russert family, as well as his colleagues and associates. Tim is gone, but not forgotten.
It was with great shock and disbelief when I heard of Tim's passing last Friday. As many have said, we have truly lost a great American. I have been moved by all the outpouring of sadness and emotion among his friends and co-workers. I know he will be missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and the families of NBC and MSNBC.
I'm grieving today and each day since we heard the news on Friday that Tim Russert died. I'm grieving that our country has lost a treasured voice of reason and moderation. I'm surprised at the depth of my grief and that of so many others. I believe that I am grieving because Tim's steady hand will no longer be at the helm of Meet The Press or providing election coverage. I'm grieving because I am reminded of how much I miss my father. I'm grieving because my son and daughter didn't get the fathering they needed. I am hopeful that he has provided a model for others to follow and the rancor that infuses the voices of so many others will begin to quiet as they notice the positive impact Tim Russert had on so many disparate lives. My deepest sympathies extend to the family and extended family of Tim Russert.
As one of eleven children in our family ...we ALL LOVED and looked forward to "Meet The Press" each Sunday morning...no matter where we were in our lives on Sunday mornings. Our hearts and prayers fo out to Maureen,Luke, Big Russ and the rest of the Russert family. Knowing that Tim is now up in heaven and enjoying "eternal life" forever...all we can say is that Tim will be working the numbers and using "HIS" little white board come Nov. 4th.and everyone in heaven will know the results before those of us down here on earth. May God Bless Tim, his family including...HIS POLITICAL FAMILY that he loved so much!!
Dee in Alexandria, MN.
On Friday Tim Russert once again became the messenger to each of us. What better way to eulogize such a well respected individual than to heed the message ... honor your father/mother, love your child/children, and show kindness to all. Live life and cherish today because there may not be a tomorrow. Thank you Mr. Russert, thank you for touching our lives. You will be deeply missed.
Joanne from Massachusetts
Dear Maureen Luke and the entire NBC family,
My prayers go out to you and your family for your loss. I would like to say though I did not personally know Mr. Russert I was a HUGE fan. I watched Meet The Press every sunday because of Tim Russert he made understanding the political process fun. My birthday was on Friday the 13th and as far as unlucky goes being conectted to that day we were all unlucky to lose such a giant personality. But the reson my name is Tony is June 13th is St. Anthony's day and God wanted Tim to be Home. I am a father and only hope I can be 1/2 the father Tim was. I saw Luke this morning on the Today show and only hope and pray my son grows up to be such a fine young man Luke has become.
God Bless all of you,
Tony Zelaya

I feel as is I've lost a good and trusted friend. I mourn and cry for the loss of an incrdible man of extreme integrity. What I've always loved best of Tim was his honesty. If Tim said it ,it was so- just that simple. May his wife, son and all of his beloved friends find strength in their profound memories of one of the very best. How fortunate you all are to have had him in your lives. God bless.
How could I forget Big Russ? I'm sorry, dear Man. Your son was an angel. My heart breaks for you.
This past Sunday morning, we put down the newspaper, filled the coffee cups, and tuned in like every Sunday morning to watch Tim on Meet the Press. His colleagues brought us through tears and laughter as we remembered Tim's insight, his passion, his hard work, and his love for his family and his country. He made us all better sons and daughters, better parents, and better Americans.
Iwant to exprss my condolenceso the Rusert family. He was a giant in te Nes busiess adn such a compassionate person. I cant believe it's true. I'm only sorry I can't be at the service tomorrow. Millions will wish thery could be there. Betty Phillips
We are all so deeply saddened by the loss of Tim Russert. Thank you NBC for the wonderful coverage celebrating his great contributions, and the exceptional man he was. While Tim's audience didn't share the same intimacy as all of you at NBC, we knew he was more than a gifted journalist -- he was also a truly special human being. It was very moving to learn more about him, and to see how he touched all your lives. Your coverage allowed us to mourn with you -- thank you. He will be greatly missed.
As Tom Brokaw led into the sad announcement of Mr. Russert's passing, I kept thinking, "Please don't say it". I will miss Tim Russert, not only for his jounalistic gifts and political prowess, but for his smile and grace. I feel I have lost a trusted friend. It has been my distinct pleasure and privilege to be in his audience. My thoughts and prayers are with his beloved Maureen, Luke, Big Russ and his family at MSNBC. Go Bills!
I found out about the loss of Tim Russert at the kitchen table with members of my family. The shock on my face took everyone by surprise. I wanted to "delete" what I had just read so it was not true. As a political junkie, my beacon of truth concerning politics, and the world in general, has left us. I will be watching msnbc, Tim Russert made it the most honest and fair news source, to see the mantle of truth and ethics picked up by those left behind. I know it will be so. He guided them well. All we can do now is soldier on. I am profoundly sad about the loss of someone I didn't even know. The Russert family is in my prayer.
I'm not Catholic, but I wonder who is Mr. Timothy Russert interviewing up in Heaven? I know he wants to know what activities are going on, and whose doing what and why! It's nice to know that a man "is" so admirable!I'm greatful for the last 4 programs of Meet the Press.Thank you for a shining example of how a human being should be. God Bless You! His son was so brave on T.V. today, I guess I should stop crying.
THE REAL SECRET BEHIND THE LOVE WE ALL FELT FOR TIM RUSSERT WAS THAT HE WAS AND ACTED LIKE A AVERAGE AMERICAN. YOU TRULY "WELCOMED" HIM INTO YOUR HOME AND FELT THAT A TRUE FRIEND HAD COME FOR A VISIT. OTHER NEWS PEOPLE COME INTO OUR HOMES BUT NONE WERE WELCOMED THE WAY WE DID TIM RUSSERT. HIS ENTHUSIASM FOR WHAT HE DID AND HIS FAITH IN POLITICS WAS LIKE WAKING UP ON CHRISTMAS MORNING. HE WAS THIS WAY ALL THE TIME NOT JUST ONCE IN A WHILE. I HAVE HAD MANY TEARFUL MOMENTS SINCE LEARNING OF HIS DEATH AND I KNOW THAT MORE ARE IN STORE. I WILL TRULY MISS YOU TIM!! I KNOW OUR FATHER HAS WELCOMED YOU HOME!!!!
Every morning I check in with Morning Joe to see if Russert is going to be on and again with the Today show. If I happen to miss Meet the Press, I know that I can catch it on MSNBC later. This past weekend and this morning I am so saddened to know that these programs are about Tim and not with him. Being a political junkie is not going to be as fun for quite a while. I don't quite know how NBC news will go on in the next few months but I will continue to be there as a viewer and friend of the network. My condolences to his family and many friends and coworkers.

To all who loved and admired Tim Russert,
Tim was the consumate humanitarian. He served his calling well. Tim was a gift to us all. Cherish and honor his memory by living as he did. Call a friend, celebrate everyone's success, say I love you, savor every moment. What a beautiful man.
The loss of Tim Russert will be felt, not only every Sunday, but every day. He was the highlight of every television show on which he appeared.
We concur with all the heartfelt and genuine sentiments that have been expressed about him since his sudden passing.
To us the essence of this brilliant, fair minded, enthusiastic, caring, devoted, cheerful, insightful, and consummate Irish Catholic gentle man can be summed up in one phrase of the highest order - he was a mench!
Sincerely and with sympathy to his family, friends and co-workers.

As a catholic and fellow admirer I was in shock and disbelief when I heard what happened to Mr. Russert! Being a nurse, made me even more worried of what had happened. God needed a journalist in heaven I guess. My sympathy to his family, friends, NBC and to MEET THE PRESS!
To the MSNBC, NBC and Russert family, I am truly sorry for your loss. This is a loss for the entire nation. This man was truly an american icon. I looked so forward to watching him during the elections and every Sunday on Meet the Press and I will miss that more then I can say. His style of interviewing and analysis was always exciting to watch. He seemed to always ask the questions that you wanted to ask yourself. In these times of uncertainty in the world he had a way of putting things in perspective. I think that although he was taken from us far too soon we are a better nation thanks to him and that is his legacy. My prayers are with you all. Thank you Tim and rest in peace. A true fan.
I was at the auto shop at the time that I heard about the passing of Tim Russert, I immediatialy called my husband, because we have been fans of Tim Russert and the morning show Mmeet the press for several years, after hearning our whole weekend was not the same. He was such a man of honor. In recent years we have gotton our children to watch Meet the Press also.My husband and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to the NBC family and to the Russert family. Marcell & Gretchen Campbell, Clayton.NC
Tim Russert always, always reminded me of the love I have for my parents, children and friends. I put forth a great deal of loving effort to care for my parents until their passing and experienced much adversity from my sibling and her husband for doing so but I did it anyway because it was the right thing to do. With Tim's constant example I always felt good about my decisions. My dad Anthony was my big Russ and I honor the memory of him every day. I share Tim's love of his family, his roots, his love of his Roman Catholic faith and his love for his country and these memories of him will remain with me as I continue my life. I have tears now because we have lost a great man, who, through his example, in all aspects of his life, has shown us the right way to live our lives. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, son, family, and many friends. I smiled many times while watching Tim on TV. Go get em Tim. You will always be missed.
Tim was an angel on earth & one of God's chosen. From the second he was born, he had an inherent sense of God, family, country, friends. What an amazing man, father, son, husband, friend to all. He was the only man, in the media, that I believed every word he told us. He treated everyone equally & never forgot his roots. His integrity & honesty were amazing especially in this day & age. He truly lived a Christian life. Condolences to Maureen, Luke, Big Russ, & his family. He will be missed by all for a very long time.
I have been watching off and on all weekend of coverage of Mr.Russert passing. I just want to say To his wife, Maureen,His father Big Russ and especially to his son Luke My thoughts and prayers are with you. I saw the interview on the Today Show with Mr. Russert's,son Luke, You did your father proud. You've got big shoes to fill and we know that you will do it with honesty and integrity. political analysis will never be the same. His love for his country, God and family will be a lasting memory for us all. Whata country. Mr Russert would say. So all that is left to say THANK YOU. AND MAY HE REST IN PEACE.
I have felt so depressed all weekend, but I know I'm not alone. I don't know if the people in the media (not all of them, but many of them); I don't know if they realize how much they become part of our lives. People felt like they knew Tim Russert. He had that way about him. I love politics and news, and so, for me, I've been going through this part of my life with various people on TV and radio, especially Mr. Russert. It won't be the same. I want to thank all of the people at NBC and MSNBC - it's easy to see that his friends and co-workers are shocked and sad. the words and tributes have been wonderful and it helps. To see his son speak today with Matt Lauer made me start crying again, but he's an inspiration to the rest of us. GoD Bless Tim, his family and friends all over the world, the great people at NBC. Thank you for his presence on the world scene. I'll miss him very much.
Tim Russert had explained to me so many sides of the issues for these 15 years that I truly feel lost aTHe Castenell at hid untimely passing. I can't imagine the loss his family feels and want them to know that he's in my prayers. The Castenell Family
How utterly stunned I was to hear the sad news of Tim's passing. I felt like I lost a dear friend. Every one I spoke with also felt the same way which is a testament to who Tim was and the legacy he leaves. This was a man who got it right. He knew the secret to this life on earth and shared it with us all. Work hard, laugh a lot and live with honor. But he put God and family above it all. Thank you Tim.
I heard, on "Morning Joe," some wondering as to whether the mourning was going on too long -- whether Tim would have wanted attention to be focused forward already rather than concentrated on him. No, no, no. We need time, out here, to let go gradually of the man we trusted, learned from, welcomed into our homes every Sunday morning, and, yes, loved. I have followed the reports (on MSNBC) of what I have come to think of as the Irish Mafia, through this entire grieving process since Tim's passing, and it has been, to me, like an old-fashioned Irish wake -- crying a while, laughing at well-loved stories of the deceased and remembering the good times shared, then experiencing the pang in the heart of knowing how they will never be shared again -- and crying once more. The only things missing have been the prayers (and surely there have been plenty of those in our hearts -- I know there have been in mine) and the inevitable passed-around spirits. My Sunday mornings will never be the same and my heart goes out to "Big Russ," Luke, Maureen, and all the rest of his beloved family, both biological and professional. I will miss him so terribly. Mr. Russert's path to success represented the American Dream but, more than that, Mr. Russert's character represented the best of humankind. May flights of angels sing thee to they rest, Tim.
I have never had the opportunity to meet Tim. And its fitting that we all call him that...Tim. For millions of Americans he was like a brother, a father, the voice of the nations conscience.
Tim, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand with the love and tenderness with which we keep you in our hearts.
GO BILLS!
We feel the lose of Tim Russert deeply. Sunday morning will never be the same. He taught all of us about politics and about being a caring person. Our condolences to his family. How fortunate you were to really have known him.
We wish to express our condolences to Tim Russert's family and to the NBC family. We are so sorry for your loss and grieve with you. Our prayers are with you.
The Craig Family
I am a Conservative, Republican from Mississippi and the only reason I watched NBC was because of Tim Russert. He was fair and had a twinkle in his eye about the love of his Country. He was the only Jounalist that could have cured the divide between conservative and liberal thinking and given us all a common ground. My concolences to his family, wasn't Luke lucky to have had a Father like him!
I never met tim but it took 4 day to get myself togther. When I came to America I watced meet the press and I was hook he got my immediate respect. However I have a small message for his father, wife and son and NBC family. The Tim that I met almost seven years ago will sing. " my life has been a joy to me, no matter where I go I've learned to live in Harmony with kindly friends or Foe". So Don't worry he is with his creator and he live a good and honest life. I am sorry I felt your pain but we thank God for his life. Added to that, Andrea asked who would pull you up, You just remember that Tim Lived his life like if he took a step the next step might be his end. So please do that with your life and I believe you will get why he was the way he was. Finally, I missed the fact that he was excited when he said He could not wait till August when Obama will give the acceptance speech 40 years after Martin Luther King. God bless Tim and God Bless America.
First and foremost, my heart goes out to Maureen and Luke. Thank you for sharing Tim with us. I always called him my Sunday morning man and my husband would usually go to the grocery store while I watched Meet the Press because I do have a tendency to get into it too much. I would be screaming, "get him Tim, ask him this or ask him that", and my husband, not one to be into politics, would escape the ranting. When I managed a bar and we would go in on Sunday mornings to take inventory and do the ordering, my sidekick Ed was a Face the Nation man. It did not take him long to realize that the woman manned the remote on Sunday mornings. Thanks for loving politics enough to even make my husband watch sometimes. He was very understanding this weekend as I mourned for the other man in my life. Thank you NBC and MSNBC for all the memories. It was truly fitting and touching.
I felt as though I had missed the meat of the Today Show if I wasn't tuned in right at 7 AM so as not to miss Tim Russert's take on what was happening because he was always on early, between 7:00 and 7:15. He brought everything into perspective and gave us understanding of complex issues. My prayers are for Tim's family and his extended NBC family. We shall not see his like again.
You were great in more ways then one would ever dream to be. May you have a seat in Heaven that grants you inside access and a front seat view on all of your greatest interests.
I never had any idea that loss of Tim Russert would have such a personal impact on me personally. It is the first time I've felt such deep sadness for someone I didn't even know. I will miss his face and his shinning personality. You've set an example of what a Greatness means when I say you were a great man. Paul P.
Complete shock and sadness have surrounded me since I heard about the sudden death of Tim Russert. I was a longtime dedicated fan of his and a non-stop watcher of Meet the Press since the beginning, and I never stopped watching anything he covered during this Primary election. His enthusiasm was contagious.
He had this uncanny way of making you feel that he was part of your family. In fact I had just returned from my sister's funeral when two days later Tim Russert had fatally collapsed. It was a double loss for me. I am heartened by the fact that I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago at a charity event and had exchanged a few words with him. He was such a shining example of all that is good with our country--a hard-working, accountable human being who exemplified the American Dream--his cup was always two-thirds full!
My heartfelt condolences are extended to his wife, Maureen, his son, Luke, his dad, Big Russ, and sisters for their terrible loss, but also to his 2nd Family at NBC, those colleagues whose daily lives will never be the same without their close friend and mentor. May his memory be for a blessing. "Tim, you were the real deal!"
Shirley Olin, Winnetka, IL
Outside of my family I have only had that I can't believe it feeling just a few times in my 62 years. 9/ll, JFK, Robert Kennedy and young John. These are events that you keep watching TV to see if this is really true. He was a joy to watch and he made you believe there was someone keeping the news and politicians honest. Even though he left this earth too soon his loss is a celebration of what living ones life should be. God bless his family and thank God all their memories will be joyful and loving. Kathleen Serafini, Providence, UT
I felt that I knew Tim Russert personally.
Each Sunday morning I welcomed him into my home, knowing I'd enjoy political wit and wisdom in addition to his addicting personality.
He really made my day each Sunday, and I'll sorely miss him.
Farewell Tim. You have part of my heart with you. Randy in Piney Flats, TN.
Tim Russert was an honest to goodness, true blue example f a peson who lived life with a sense of gratitude, enthusiasm and integrty. He was the real deal. His contribution went beyond hosting national show, providing politial analyses etc.He showed us how to live by livig one's faith.
I lost my father on June 13th, fourteen years ago. My mother is now dying of stage 4 malignant melanoma. I understand your loss. My sympathies to his family. Tim Russert will be missed. He always asked the questions that I wanted to know the answers to. He was a fine man who set a wonderful example with his life. He is with his heavenly father and probably knows the outcome of the election! I hope his family with take comfort in the fact that he loved them so much.
I feel as though I have lost a friend. Mr. Russert you will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and everyone at MSNBC. How will we get through this election year without you?
Carole Martin Orlando, FL.
I have long been a watcher of Meet The Press and a great admirer of Tim Russert.I can't beleive his voice has been silenced so soon.I was born in Western New York,Jamestown in fact.Just some 90 miles south of Buffalo.I would wait for Sundays just to hear him say Go Bills. He will be truly missed by so many!!My prayers are with his family at this sad time.Peace be with you all and God Bless.
For over a decade, all my friends knew that I spent Sunday mornings in bed with Tim Russert. I set the clock in time to turn on Meet the Press and I laid in bed so I could listen and concentrate. I am so saddened that he was taken before we could share this next election. Just doesn't seem fair. God Bless Maureen and Luke. Love, Ellen.
I am still in shock at Tim's untimely passing so suddenly. He was one of my favorite journalists. I so enjoyed watching him on Meet the Press, and always looked forward to HIS views on any given major news. I'm a true fan of NBC and MSNBC. Tim gave us all lessons on life - smile often, enjoy life, meet challenges positively, savor family and friends, pray, love America, and "play" a lot. He magnified openly that true inner child in all of us. Tim is and will be so terribly missed by all Americans. God bless the entire Russert family, and the NBC family. American's Everywhere lost a Dear Family Member,- He will be Greatly missed!
Tim's sudden death continues to live within me and my family. Please accept our prayers and sympathies to his father, sisters, wife and son. I especially want to extend my heartfelt thoughts to all of his colleagues with whom he has shared life on a close and loving manner. we will all miss him. Meet the Press will never be the same. Tim will always be a part of us. Wonderful people always are. Peace to all of you.
My most heart felt prayers and sympathies go out to Tim's Family, Friends, Colleagues, & to his Fans the world over for our profound loss. Although the closest I ever came to meeting Tim was when I attended a speech he gave at Drake University, I will never forget him or his passion for God, politics, family, people and a good laugh. He was a life mentor to us all and America's political guardian and safety net and the very best at what he did for so many years. I know, in time, God will heal the pain of Tim's passing, but I cannot keep from wondering why now and why so young. My guess is, with such a historic election this fall, God wants to be the first to know the outcome:)Thank you and God bless you Tim for being you and sharing!
I will miss you.

My prayers go out to the family and friends of Tim Russert. I never met him, but felt I knew him through his political commentaries. He had a presence which made one feel welcome and comfortable. He was such an integral part of this year's election. It will be better for having had him. The shock of his passing has made me think about my personal health and my purpose in life. I pray that when I pass away, I will have made a positive impact on my family, my friends, and the world, just as Tim Russert did.
Please accept our deepest sympathy at the passing of Tim Russert. He was a very knowledgeable person when it came to politics. He always asked the right questions on 'Meet the Press' and most recently at the debates. He will be sorely missed.
I ran across a praye publihed by the Frnciscans that fits the life of Tim Russert: Lord, as I greet this new day, let me be ever mindfull of your divine love. Guide me toward demonstrations of love & kindness for everyone I meet today. Help me put your command to "Love One Another" to work in all I say and do. Grant me generosity of spirit. Open my mind and heart to others that I may seek ways to show the power and the wonder of "Love At Work" in your name. Amen
What a loss for all of us here on Earth! Upon hearing of Tim's passing, I was in disbelief/shock. I have learned how much I take things for granted and how important it is to push the envelope of life with as much enthusiasm, faith and unselfishness as Tim did. I expect his new assignment is interrogating new arrivals at the Pearly Gates of Heaven.
After my initial shock after hearing about Tim's death was that he was so excited about this political season and he won't be here to experience it. So sad.
I will miss Tim's commentaries on the Today Show as well as his interviews on Meet the Press. He kept the public well informed without being biased. He truly was a wonderful journalist, one whom I really did enjoy watching, and learning from. RIP Tim!
I have never met Tim Russert but I felt like I knew him too. He is already sadly missed and my heart felt prayers go out to his family, freinds, and co-worker. May God keep you all in his care.
It was really very simple. Tim Russert was the one who made me care and helped me understand politics and why I should vote.
This is a devastating loss for all of us. Tim Russert was part of my family. My dad and I used to call each other Sunday morning and "watch" Meet the Press together. Tim taught me more about politics then anyone or anything I'd ever read. He is the one person I always wanted to see in action personally. My deepest condolences to his family and his family at NBC. This is a huge loss. It's Sunday Morning-now what? Mary Handley, Flower Mound, Texas
Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Admires of Tim Russert,
I wanted to share my deepest apologies for your loss. This loss will be felt by all Americans who have been touched by the gentle giant of a man that came into our homes almost every day through our TV sets.
Tim was a role model for all Americans that preached the modo of “Hard work, clean living†not in his words, but in his actions.
I never met Tim in person, but somehow still consider him a friend. My family and I looked for him every day on many of the NBC shows he contributed to and watch Meet the Press every week with a cup of coffee and an open mind. Although Tim was great at breaking down the complexities of American Politics, it was his writings that will have a lasting impact on my life. Tim helped me be better at my job…the job of being a Father and the most important job a man can have in our world today.
Tim, Where ever you are….HAPPY FATHERS DAY !

I am struck by my emotional reaction to Tim Russert's death. I clearly never met him but spent almost every Sunday from 1991 to today with him and Meet the Press. I loved that he was not shy to share his fait, that he never gave up on the Bills and that every Father's Day he said of Luke - "I am so proud to be his Dad". Thanks and prayers and blessings to the entire Russert family.
I will truly miss Tim Russert. I am a big fan of MSNBC & I can't believe we won't hear his familiar vocie any more. We'ev all been cheated by this great loss. Prayerfull thoughts & sympathy to his family & all at MSNBC.
