Steve Bucknor Should Retire

Steve Bucknor's horrendous decisions against India in the second cricket Test in Sydney on Thursday evoked calls for the 61-year-old West Indian umpire's immediate retirement from officiating in international matches. Bucknor, the oldest ICC umpire in the world, has been India's bugbear in recent years but his three decisions which cost India hugely stood out. The Australians were reeling at 134 for 6 before Bucknor gave a new lease of life to their innings by adjudging Andrew Symonds not out at 30 before the all-rounder went on to score an unbeaten knock of 162.   read more »

SCG Test ( India- Australia test 2, Day 1) - 02 January 2008 It has happened again and again from the same person. Why is that it is the same person who has been helping in Team india's downfall against Australia. By now, you should have all figured out who I am talking about. It's none other that Windies born, considering himself Aussie, Umpire Steve Bucknor. Steve Bucknor doesn't seem to like the Indians, which has become a well known truth among the cricketing world. He has always given the decisions against Indians and in favour of Aussies. I don't understand what is wrong with this man. I guess he seems to consider himself as an Aussie. Aussies always play with 12 players in the game and always get the benefits from the umpiring decisions from people like Steve Bucknor I still remember the last test I went to watch at the Sydney Cricket Ground(SCG) between India & Australia in 2003, Steve Bucknor denied us a win against Steve Waugh's team in his last test with the wrong decisions by not giving out the Aussie players. He has been doing the same thing again at SCG in the 2nd Test between India- Australia( Currently being played - 2nd Jan- 6th Jan '08). Australia were 130/6 in the first Innings and Andrew Symonds was out on 30 caught off Ishant Sharma with a big nick. Steve Bucknor didn't give Andrew Symonds out and Symonds went on to score 132 notout on the first day of the test. Even Symonds said after the end of the day's play that he was lucky to get not out on 30 by Bucknor and he also said that people make mistakes, but why is it the same people making the same mistake again by giving decisions against th indians. I bet you, he will give Sachin Tendulkar LBW again on shoulders in one of the innings. I think this man should retire from International cricket Umpiring.

3 January 2008 And He has repeated the same thing again today on Day 2 of SCG test, Dhoni stumped Symonds but he didnt even refer it to the third umpire.Steve bucknor is really rediculous and useless. 6 January 2008 One of the worst decisions in world cricket, Rahul Dravid was given out caught behind off Symonds and bat was no where near the ball, the ball was behind the pad and I dont understand how coud Bucknor give him out on a very decisive moment of the test. It could definitely cost India the SCG test. I would ask ICC for the removal of him from the Elite umpires and a petition to sack him or get him retired
