You are watching the New World Record in 100M sprint in Beijing Olympics 2008.Usain Bolt of Jamaica eased up at the end of the 100 meters, even slapping his chest, and still set a world record of 9.69 seconds Saturday night at the Bird's Nest.Bolt, 21, looked at the track-side clock several times during the quick race and visibly slowed a few meters from the finish line. He broke his own record of 9.72, set in May in New York.The race was expected to be a three-man showdown between Bolt, his teammate Asafa Powell, the former world record holder, and Tyson Gay of the United States, the world champion at this distance. But Gay failed to qualify for the final and Powell faded to fifth place.Richard Thompson of Trinidad & Tobago was second in 9.89 and American Walter Dix won the bronze in 9.91.
