Mr. Shanti Bhushan represented CFA Institute during court hearing on 25th August but the judge has postponed the next hearing to 29th September. Lets hope it gets resolved on that date. CFAI allows indian candidates to appear for exams at overseas centres

As you know, because the CFA Program is not registered with the AICTE, CFA Institute has not been accepting CFA Program registrations from within India. Just saw an ad in today's newspaper for the CPA program (certified public accountant) program offered by the ICFAI. After trying to fool candidates with the fake CFA designation they are now trying to fool potential candidates with the fake CPA program. Or is it just a coincidence that they chose the name CPA? Hi All, The arguements today were very intersting. It was primarily about whether CFA of CFA Institute can be covered under distance education and thus can be regulated by AICTE or not. Today, it was AICTE's turn to present its arguements, which was concluded in the evening. Now, the judge has allocated 30 mins on 26th Sept to CFA Institute .. more »

The Delhi High Court has declined to pass any order today. The next date of hearing is on the 6th of September. However the court has said that in case in the future the matter is decided in favour of the CFAI the court will consider making the ICFAI and the AICTE pay the difference in fees... more »

Students in India have not been able to register for the Level 1 Chartered Financial Analyst examination of the US-based CFA Institute to be held in December, as a result of the ongoing legal battle. In the last examination, held on June 3, students could at least register for writing the exam at a foreign location, but this time they can’t .. more »
