The show was anchored by Sajid Khan and Shreyas Talpade.Amir Khan’s, Taare Zameen Par was in the list of 17 nominations. As it is Amir Khan’s belief that attending Award functions is a waste of time, the organizers of the award function came up with an idea of placing a huge cut-out of Aamir Khan from the film Taare Zameen Par to make up for his absence at the function. The Best Director Award went to not just one, but two well-deserving people, Aamir Khan for Taare Zameen Par and Shimit Amin for Chak De. Khan’s 17 Chak De! India girls make their presence felt all through the evening as they hoot and cheer the nominees, winners, anchors and performers. The Nokia Annual Star Screen Awards is said to be the most prestigious awards in the history of Bollywood.
