I FOUND THE TRIPLE ADVANTAGE FORM FOR COUNTRYWIDE!!!
posted by  BECEE(1)   13 months ago

Before this, I typed a long set of instructions but I wasn't logged in, so Ilost everyhting. So I only did this again to let folks know how to get above site. TYPE THE ADDRESS consumerinfo.com/countrywide into YOUR MAIN BROWSER ADDRESS BAR - that will bring you to the correct site - follow the prompts, add your activation code, bookmark the site, log off and pray.....

They need to be sued big time. Nothing like callingfor days and being put on hold when nobody is on the other end. They say to put the Activation Code on the form, but there is no area for an Activation Code, it's supposed to be BEFORE the Terms and Conditions, but IT IS NOT! What a bunch of idiots!!!

I hope they belly up because then our mortgages will be sold to another company.

posted by  Anonymous user   13 months ago

we were able to enter the information in to the consumerinfo site, thanks to those who shared on this site, however I spent yesterday, trying to figure out how to get to this site, but what about my wife's information that was on the loan app as well, I do not see a way to enroll her ss number. I did call the company yesterday at the number on the letter and asked that if something happened whether we would be given the persons name so that we could press charges, they tried to say that they didn't know who it was, I said they must if the fired the individual. She gave me another number that I have not been able to get through to, yes I think a class action lawsuit should be done. I would just settle for knowing the County the case if filed, or if it is federal? What is the case number so we can see what is happening? What is the name of the prosecuting attorney and also who will be sending us any updates to this case? What was the date of discovery and the date of the sale. Did this happen this week or 6 weeks ago and we didn't know? These are just some of the questions I believe that Countrywide should give to their customers. We are also looking at a refinance, will be still be covered if we leave countrywide. It was also scary being forced to only enroll on line when I already now that my private information has been compromised.

How to get to the FREE TRIPLE ADVANTAGE CREDIT MONITORING FORM!!!
posted by  Beverly   13 months ago

Hello!

After receiving that alarming letter from Countrywide mortgage company and calling every number on it, I figured how to get the consumerinfo.com/countrywide website. You must type the entire address into your BROWSER ADDRESS WINDOW...don't type it in your "yahoo" or "google" or something like that.

When you get there, you will be asked to type in your info, create a user name, password, etc. and other security information. Be patient, there are A LOT of user names and passwords already in use, so it will start you over if you pick one already being used, so be creative and submit your information. You will then be directed to and find the window for the BROWSER ACTIVATION CODE on the SECOND PAGE OF THE APPLICATION! You will be asked for the BORROWER ACTIVATION CODE ON THE LETTER YOU RECEIVED; TYPE IT IN EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS IN THE LETTER. Once you've completed that and read the the disclaimers, the site will tell you it's processing your request - this will take a few minutes. When it's done, you'll get an order number and other information. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN (INCLUDING YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD) ON THAT LETTER!!! Then you will have access to your entire credit WORLD! It's SCARY what they know about you!!!! Go in, look at everything, clean it up if necessary, report disputes, print stuff if you need to and then log out and close all windows. If you are the only one with access to your computer, you may want to bookmark the site in a folder somewhere for easy access. Afer that, to get into the site you will need your user name and password.

I hope this helps you...

I got the same letter. Called TransUnion and they have a line set up for Countrywide #9. They will also contact the other two credit services for you. I cancelled all my credit cards. This letter really pissed me off. I think we should file a law suit as well. None of us are any longer protected.

I got the same letter too. I live in Missouri and I'm wondering how many people across the US has this happened to? The web-site listed above is legit. I just checked all 3 credit reports and thank god they are fine (for now). But please do call TransUnion and go to option 9 and get a fraud alert on your file ASAP. I am also thinking about contacted a lawyer. I have hated CountryWide for years now and this just gives me even more reasons!

Read many of your emails and feel the same; legal action is necessary. My loan was sold to CW and have been more than concerned about it's ability to protect my interests... like a 'nightmare' come true here. Please advise what credit service to use... lost with link provided by CW. Again, let's pray for the best here and hold CW accountable.

I held on-line for 30 minutes -- not a usual thing for me but I suspected signing up on-line would be difficult. Well after speaking to a rep -- I decided to use the on-line signup in order to get timely e-mails alerts. After going to the site ref in ltr I was unable to find the Triple Advantage Credit monitoring site / form. I am back on hold for another 30 minutes or so and will probably try to sign up over the phone. I'll just have to wait 5 days to receive my alerts. If there are any attorneys who have had their personal information compromised and are ready to do something about it -- I would be happy to join a class action suite. Let us know!

posted by  Anonymous user   14 months ago

I've gotten so many scam letters from India in the past i6 months. I forward each of them to the FBI and hope it is taken care of by them. I think this is a scam - the address on the "letter" we all got was Simi Valley andsaid only "Countrywide" with a trademark on it. If you look at your statement for the loan, it says "Countrywide Bankk" with the trademark and the word countrywide does not have the trademark on it. Well, it just doesn't track in my book AND the letter is addressed only to my spouse and the loan statement is addressed to both of us. I SAY DON'T FILL IN ANYTHING. Good luck to us.

I called countrywide again and got a new web site that does have the form. The site is; http://experian.consumerinfo.com/premium/default. It worked once and then I couldn't log back on. But in filling out the form, be sure you read the conditions they want you to agree to. It states that the service is free to add "cookies" to advertisers on your hard drive. They also stipulate that they have the freedom to share info. with parties that "maybe of service to the sites you use on line." I think going to one of the credit services themselves and putting on a fraud alert is probably the best solution.

I called them back and they told me it wouldn't. CountryWide has put me through enough. I tried to refinance with them and was told three times it was going through, it never did.
