I received a letter from Country Wide and I called. They told me to register for two years complimentary credit services. When doing some research , it says this is going to cost 11:99 a month . I called them back and they told me it wouldn't. CountryWide has put me through enough. I tried to refinance with them and was told three times it was going through, it never did. I ended up taking money out of my retirement to pay my mortgage. I lost my house because they foreclosed on it. So I am with you when you say class action suit!!! I already reported them to Boston Banks and the Attorney Generals office.

I called countrywide again and got a new web site that does have the form. The site is; http://experian.consumerinfo.com/premium/default. It worked once and then I couldn't log back on. But in filling out the form, be sure you read the conditions they want you to agree to. It states that the service is free to add "cookies" to advertisers on your hard drive. They also stipulate that they have the freedom to share info. with parties that "maybe of service to the sites you use on line." I think going to one of the credit services themselves and putting on a fraud alert is probably the best solution.

Where is the damn form, I have called the number given to me by Countrywide, only to be told call back later. What really gets me they have the balls to give me percuationary measures for me to take to protect my information, when I've been doing this the whole time to make sure this doesn't happen to me, and they had an employee who sold my information!!!!!!!!

.i'm treating this as a scam
posted by  Anonymous user   2 months ago

I've gotten so many scam letters from India in the past i6 months. I forward each of them to the FBI and hope it is taken care of by them. I think this is a scam - the address on the "letter" we all got was Simi Valley andsaid only "Countrywide" with a trademark on it. If you look at your statement for the loan, it says "Countrywide Bankk" with the trademark and the word countrywide does not have the trademark on it. Well, it just doesn't track in my book AND the letter is addressed only to my spouse and the loan statement is addressed to both of us. I SAY DON'T FILL IN ANYTHING. Good luck to us.

I got this letter yesterday. I am hoping it is a scam went online typed in countrywide scams and found a website that had one on it. It is www.consumerist.com typed in countrywide scams and there it was Mortgage Company lying about Identity Theft. Read the article and read the scanned copy of the letter very similar. It has the same address from countrywide same number and so on. Hopefully it is just a scam.

This is total bullshit! Why should I have to attempt to locate this "non-existent" form? "They" made the mistake and "they" should have to pay for this. 2 years to monitor my credit! What the hell! 2 years is nothing! My info is out there with some SOB criminal who has nothing better to do with themselves but to steal my identity and use it to their benefit. I am seriously considering consulting with an attorney regarding a class action lawsuit. Is this another scam? Who can we trust? I question everything involving Countrywide.
