Garage design is make-it-work design. If it clicks, then comes architecture/re-usability ... A Corporate design is exact opposite.
When stuff comes out of a garage, you have minimum expectation. But when corporates release stuff, its their image that goes along with it.
Quite different stuff.. right?

No.. It is not because of that. It is because of the nonsense created by all those managers trying to "help" & the resulting chaos. Result: it takes 5 years and gives complex buggy code.
A 3 man team of good developer can do the same or better stuff in 6 months: leading to better bug-free code..
